Lord B, Prince G and the Icey Dicey

A swingin' Prince of the Swedish branch of the Royal Court has swung up a feast of semantic units and sweetly broadcast it throughout the whole jumpin' nation on Sveriges Radio P1. Journalist and radio host Klas Gustafson has gassed all the hip cats and kitties with his radio tribute to His Lordship: Klas Gustafson återupptåcker monologernas måstare Lord Buckley.

Featuring Prince G's sweet Swedish jazz pipes, Lord Buckley routines and the recorded comments of Einar Heckscher and Americans Sam Charters and Oliver Trager, The 40 minute show was on air December 28, 1999 and December 29, 1999.You can read Klas Gustafson's newspaper article about Lord Buckley at this website. Those of you regal cats and kitties that jump to the semantic units that His Lordship swung up so sweet and circus day delicate will dig the latest addition to this site. Tom Dalzell, author of "Flappers 2 Rappers - American Youth Slang" has most graciously consented to the presentation of a section of his book: "The Word of The Lord" in the The Printheads section of LBO. A little bonus action is a guest appearance by Prince Oliver Trager.

Hipsters Flipsters And Kale Poppin' Daddies

Most Royal Lords and Ladies, hold on to those old Buckley waxes and let me hip you to the latest swing of the Thing of the Ring Bing. ebay Auctions, an on-line auction house, recently split the roof beams with a big pool sized volley of kale pledges. A 10 inch version of Hipsters, Flipsters and Finger Poppin' Daddies was on the block and the winning bid (after ten days of slow motion tension) was $513.79. Here's a description of the album:

Lord Buckley: Hipsters, Flipsters and Finger Poppin' Daddies, Knock Me Your Lobes. RCA LPM 3246. U.S. pressing. 10-inch LP. Light marks and abrasions, but nothing is audible, with only occasional ticks; a remarkably clean-sounding copy of a classic party record (which rarely survive in such good condition). Cover has very light soiling, but otherwise, is in NM condition.

According to Walt Stempek, Buckley discographer, the Hipsters, Flipsters album is considered the rarest of the rare in the world of collectables trading. Would the Lord be subject to a seizure of the flips if he dug this jazz!!!

Last April Chicago's Prop Theatre presented Charles Pike's play "The Seven-Ply Gasser";. Now Prince Charles and the Prop, in association with Second City, have brought the opus straight and up to date and opening night for this sweet five cents worth of ink, renamed "The Return of the Hip Messiah", is slated for Nov. 12th. The play is directed by Second City veteran Aaron Freedman and features Richard Henzel reprising his role as His Lordship. Link up below, Daddy-o, to dig the scene Detail style
